The Ghost Housing Market

If you didn't see this post over at Mish's blog, then I invite you to check it out. Some of it does not apply very strongly to Marin, but much of it does. You be the judge. (The most applicable parts are in the latter 2/3 IMO.)

You know what that article just reminded me of? All of those jokes about the Florida Land Boom.

You know, a textbook example of a housing bubble, right down to the buying and selling of land without ever looking to verify that it wasn't just a piece of swampy ground...
