You forgot - one can play golf in shorts in January and drive four hours to skiing!

Correction, 8 hours to skiing... 4 hours is soo 2001.

Funny, though, you can get to skiing faster in Salt Lake City from Los Angeles beaches than you can get to skiing in Big Bear.
